How much does drain cleaning in Dublin cost?

It depends on where the blockage sits and whether jetting or a camera survey is needed. Davis Drain Services quotes every drain cleaning job in Dublin before work starts, on the phone or on arrival. Any repair found during the visit is priced separately and only goes ahead once you have agreed it.

Who is responsible for a blocked drain in Ireland, me or Uisce Éireann?

Drainage inside your property boundary is yours, including the connection out to the public sewer. Uisce Éireann takes over at the sewer itself. Where a shared drain serves several houses, all the households on it are jointly responsible. A camera survey settles which side the blockage sits on.

What is the difference between drain cleaning and drain unblocking?

Unblocking removes whatever is stopping the flow right now. Cleaning goes further and scours fat, silt and scale off the pipe walls so the full width comes back. Unblocking gets you working today. Cleaning is what stops the same drain closing again in three months.

Why does my drain keep blocking after it has been cleared?

Something in the pipe is causing it and rodding does not remove it. Tree roots, a joint pulled apart by ground movement, or a section that has sunk and holds water will each catch waste and rebuild the blockage. A camera survey shows which one you have.

Can a broken drain be repaired without digging up the garden?

Usually, yes. Patching and relining are done through the existing manhole, repairing the pipe from the inside, so lawns, driveways and paving stay untouched. Excavation is kept for pipes that have collapsed too badly to hold a liner, and that is a small minority of jobs.

Yes. Davis Drain Services holds a national waste collection permit, so anything removed from your property during our drain cleaning services is disposed of legally. Our technicians are City and Guilds certified in pipe scoring and reporting, which is the qualification behind a written CCTV report a solicitor or engineer will accept.
