Clearing blocked drains across Dublin since 1968 — day or night.
Your interceptor is what keeps oil and fuel out of the public drains and keeps your site inside its licence. We empty and clean oil interceptors for forecourts, car washes, garages and commercial yards across Dublin, Meath and Louth.

We work on interceptors and oil separators at any site that handles fuel, oil or vehicle runoff. Find your premises below and see what we take care of.
Fuel spills and vehicle drips fill a forecourt interceptor fast. We set a cleaning schedule to your traffic so it stays under capacity and inside your fuel-store licence.
Every vehicle sends oil, grease and detergent into your separator. We empty it on a schedule set to your wash volume, so it never backs up into the bay.
Engine oil, hydraulic fluid and fuel drain into your interceptor every working day. We clean it before it fills, so contaminated water never bypasses the separator.
Surface water off a car park carries trace oil and fuel into the interceptor. We clean it on schedule so the storm water leaving your site stays within limits.
Fuel storage, refuelling and heavy machinery push high pollutant loads through a depot interceptor. We set a cleaning frequency to match the risk on your site.
An interceptor pulls oil, fuel and solids out of your wastewater before it reaches the public network. It only works while there is room inside it, and once it fills the separation stops.
Three chambers do the work: silt settles, oil and fuel separate, cleaner water exits. Once sludge builds past their capacity the separation fails. Regular cleaning keeps each chamber able to do its job.
Once the interceptor fills, oil and fuel stop separating and pass into the public network. That is a pollution incident, and it can bring fines, enforcement notices and risk to your site licence. Regular cleaning keeps it from ever getting there.
Six-monthly cleaning is the accepted standard for most interceptors, and high-traffic sites need it sooner. We match the frequency to your site and run it as a planned maintenance schedule, so it happens without you having to book each time.
Forecourts sit under SI 630/2019 and SI 631/2019, and part of staying compliant is proving your interceptor waste was disposed of properly. We remove and dispose of it under our national waste collection permit and keep a record of the work.
We check the size, access and how full the interceptor is before we start.
The vacuum tanker draws out all the sludge, oil and solids from every chamber.
High-pressure jetting cleans the chamber walls, the baffles and the inlet and outlet pipes.
We check the baffles, filters and seals, and flag anything worn or damaged.
The waste goes to an authorised facility under our permit, and we record the work.

We had an extremely positive experience with Davis Drain Services. Within minutes of calling them out of hours, they arrived to our house to clear a blocked septic tank. It was pumped out promptly before returning the following morning to rectify the issue. At all times they made us feel at ease and explained everything to us clearly. While on site they also provided helpful advice on how to rectify heating issues we were having. We would have no hesitation recommending them for both drainage and plumbing works. Thanks to Alec and team.Posted on Google![]()

Just had Alec out to look at an issue with my boiler. We were without heat and he arrived so quickly after being contacted. He was able to pinpoint the issue straight away and had it fixed in minutes. I also asked advice on an issue with my drains that I have been encountering for a few years and he was able to give me advice on how fix it. Thank you Alec, I am very grateful for all you help.Posted on Google![]()

Great service, fast call out lovely team
Interceptor cleaning has no flat rate. Price follows the unit’s size, the waste inside it and tanker access. We quote once we have seen your site.
Tell us your premises type, how many interceptors you have, and whether you want a one-off clean or a scheduled contract. We come back to you with a price.
A single three-chamber unit is a smaller job than a site running several interceptors.
Oil, fuel and sludge from a forecourt cost more to dispose of than the lighter runoff off a car park.
The vacuum tanker has to reach the chamber. Tight forecourts or restricted access add time to the job.
A regular schedule works out cheaper per visit than repeat one-off call-outs, and we set the frequency to your site.
A same-day call-out for an overflow or spill costs more than a visit planned into your schedule.
The things forecourt operators and commercial property managers ask before booking interceptor cleaning.
Most oil interceptors should be cleaned at least every six months, which is the accepted industry standard. High-traffic sites like busy forecourts, car washes and industrial yards often need it quarterly, depending on how much oil, fuel and silt passes through. We set the frequency to your site so it never reaches capacity between visits.
The difference is how clean the water leaving the interceptor has to be. A Class 1 interceptor treats water to a higher standard (down to 5mg of oil per litre) and is used on higher-risk sites like petrol stations and fuel depots. A Class 2 interceptor treats to a lower standard (100mg per litre), which suits lower-risk sites like car parks. Both need regular cleaning to keep working.
It fills with sludge and oil until there is no capacity left, and then contaminated water bypasses the separator and enters the public sewer or storm drain. That is a pollution incident. The EPA and your local authority can issue fines and enforcement notices, and your fuel-store licence or planning conditions can require proof of regular maintenance.
Yes. Davis Drain Services holds a national waste collection permit, so the waste taken off your site is collected and disposed of legally at an authorised facility, and we keep a record of the work carried out. Interceptor waste is hazardous, so legal disposal is not optional.
Yes. We set the cleaning frequency to match your site, then run it as a planned maintenance schedule so the cleaning happens on time without you having to remember to book. For most forecourts that means a set interval through the year, with busier sites cleaned more often.
Fuel forecourts operate under the Dangerous Substances Regulations (SI 630/2019 and SI 631/2019), and the waste removed from an interceptor must go to an authorised facility for disposal. Your local authority and Uisce Eireann can also set conditions on what your site discharges. In practice that means keeping your interceptor maintained and holding records of the work.
Most single-interceptor jobs take one to two hours on site. Larger sites with several interceptors, or ones with restricted tanker access, take longer. We confirm the likely time when we quote, so you can plan around your opening hours.
We cover Dublin, Meath and Louth, including all of north County Dublin. We are based in Skerries, so Drogheda, Dundalk, Navan, Swords and the surrounding commercial areas are well within our range. Ask if your site sits just outside, because we often cover it.
